What is the use of running if we are not on the right road?
A state that was born after the hardship of the political circumstance of the formal ruler of Somalia Siyad Bare and had taken the advantage of the crises and the widespread devastations of that state is now at risk
It’s a nation which its people and its government made silently non-verbal agreement against opportunities for career progression, development and growth.
A nation, a people and a government silently agreed nepotism, corruption, injustices and strong bias against each other. We are a people under a nation which has failed to put to good use of their golden opportunities .we are not embraced the goal of universal education. We are not practically dealing and encountering with the prosperity of peace, health, natural resource and human resource etc.
We have only agreed publicly one thing, peace and democracy! Forget about the latter because what we know about democracy is little and it was not originally part of our culture, we only heard from the world shouting democracy and we embraced it. The first (peace) was the property and will of every Somali Lander, though; it is being out of hand in our days. Because of what people like Faisal and his supporters are doing is ridiculous and silliness because peace is the prospect and expectations that awake and sleep each day and night.
The government which was elected from the people by the people has become the enemy and the opponents for those who elected them. I don’t know what has started the deep hostility and the strong antagonism between the government and its elected people, apart from that Rayale and his government has failed what has been elected for them and that Rayale and his government have no indication to stop the raising inflation, and that they don’t keep track of public opinions. But I think Rayale and his party well aware of that.
Apart from the ruling party the other two political opposition parties have the same page like ruling party; in addition to that they create strong racial antagonism in the societies.
It’s clear like the moon that Siranyo and Faisal are big bad suppliers of tribalism for planting among communities. Joining and participating the sub-clan meetings are practical samples and indisputable evidence which the president of KULMIYE party has participated his clan conference at GAR-ADAG.
In addition to those there are other hidden groups widely known delivering and spreading wicked words and immoral acts. The Media, yeah, the runners of our Media are part of disprogression. They publicize the virus of clannish, tribalism, disunity, dissension and the racial disharmony. HATUF AND SOMALILAND TV offends the race of particular people and they behave outrageously.
We the people of Somaliland, we play our role in the serious deterioration of the situation, because we elected the president and his vise-president, the parliament by clan, tribe, human races and short-term interests like chewing QAT from the candidates rather than the party’s believes, ability, plan, actions, effectiveness, activity, productivity, its entire strategic implementation and their good deeds for the day. Although none of the three existing parties exhibit their plans and policies to lead the state for the time being in position but the community, also failed to make a rational decision and hasn’t taken account of this confusion politics.
There is also a chaotic state group which is I called the kitchen cabinet which are some times more powerful then the government. It is a group that claims to have emancipated the country, the SNM group, which I believe are the worst criminals ever seen in the horn of Africa. SNM was planted for specific interests, and that was to fight for their clan and fight against other clans. SNM fought for that, they killed, slaughtered humans including females and children. They looted and plundered properties of innocent illiterate rural livestock keepers. They played off against other clans to take the advantage for that. They are murders and blood suckers, so how could they claim to liberate us, who were we slave for? How can this kind of people be in a state which democracy has been materialized? It’s not surprise for the few SNM remaining members to claim on something, but dumbfounded by the news in the media. This awakes the dead memories of the hard-forgetting innocent individual victims. So if we are a nation of democracy SNM and its members must be taken away from the media and political forum. The name of SNM must swipe cleaned from the nation archives. Because SNM is past and democracy is future, past and future never walk together but they follow one another. If we want to move forward we must be a nation of present and future but not a nation of yesterday and the past. This is not time for claiming what have been done in the past but it is time for all good men to come to the aid of their country. Peasant farmers have disappointed to cultivate, because of, shortage of rain and lack of the needed equipments, although chewing the green plants (QAT) coming from Ethiopia overshadowed all these events. Breeders of livestock look tired and dispirited, because of series droughts and severe famine that have swallowed their productivities which they seem in a vain attempt and in no man’s land.
International NGO is behaving as over-run state. If Somalia is under the Ethiopian occupation, Somaliland is under indirect Kenyan occupation, because all Somaliland international NGO whether the UN members or not are placed inside the hands of the rural English Kenyan speakers. International NGO breastfed the people of another country instead of Somaliland citizens, this caustic problem has caused hundreds of graduated and unemployed teenagers to run away from their mothers land to overseas, looking for better life. Our children are studying the Kenyan curriculum and syllabus, when the library books and laboratory equipments are all based on Christian community’s curriculum, aren’t we under the belly of Kenya. Where is our faith, where is our believe of Islam. How could a society be on the earth, who can’t even afford to settle a curriculum based on their doctrine? Isn’t this a nation which is in the middle of no where?
On the other hand we pay the government departments bribes for corruption money to make work easy for us, by virtue to this who does this government belong to?
When you observe carefully in every side, every angle, you would believe that Somaliland is a state that belongs to no one, because the young future teenagers of this country are running to abroad to find better life. Leading and rolling people are eating, chewing, drinking, sleeping and sending their children and families to abroad. Others become tired and fatigued of obtaining a chance to mash the fruits up with their gathering tee dust. So the government has failed and the political parties have failed. The people have also failed, but the government is the leader of the growth retardation to Somaliland people.
Allah said in his Quran talking to his slave Da’ud “O Da’ud verily! We have placed you as a successor on the earth, so judge you between men in truth (justice) and fellow not your desire- for it will mislead you from the path of Allah; verily those who wander a stray from the path of Allah shall have a severe tournament, because they forgot the day of reckoning. How many of us are the successor of Somaliland? How many of us have followed their desire and how many of us have forgotten the day of reckoning and the day of resurrection.
The day that we moved out for polling both the presidential and parliamentary elections:
We were expecting a change, a change that our people can trust their country and the government. We were expecting to eradicate poverty from the entire region.
We were expecting to climb out of poverty. we were expecting environmental damage limitation from the illiterate adze societies. We were expecting to decrease the increasing number of ragtag families in the big cities. We were expecting understanding of peace, unity, prosperity, loyalty, justice, equalities, activities and implementation.
We were expecting that our ordinary people will make extraordinary things that may have given us recognition from the international communities. We were expecting a state of not being organizing in tribes, clans and sub-division of tribes and clans. We were expecting to forget and forgive tribalism, clannish, and nepotism. We were expecting tiding over the thousands of people suffering and troubling with various unknown types of diseases, poverty, and lack of infrastructures. We were expecting Somaliland as an environment of internal business taking advantage of the global shifting.
What ever good will we were expecting nothing has changed, the land express grief, because it is as our ancestors have left. Ancestors who have left on the earth as Allah has brought them, which means they made no practical involvement. It is the untouched land except that the carbonic acid formed in the air during rain dissolves with natural resources like limestone and dolomite taking them away in to the seas, leaving behind erosion on the landscapes. No one can imagine how rain floods have made galleys, canyon, and valleys through the city of Borame. The center of our capital Hargaisa fills with water if few drops of rain fall and if gets heavy, it causes total chaos on the down town roads.
But the Somaliland people are still expecting one thing for the long future to come. We are expecting that one day through the history of our country; one of the political parties will have an effective and efficient candidate. A candidate who cares his people, who cares his country, who cares unity, who cares solidarity, who cares progression, who cares against tribalism, who cares against poverty, unemployment, and who cares decreasing the increasing number of emigrants. That is the day Somaliland will have choice and we will make our own decisions.
I wrote this Article that if we don’t stand up for our rights and tell the government and their leaders on their responsibility, then we must back down to give in, and no body can give us freedom. I pray for the best for my country.
